It was National Poetry Day on Thursday 6th October and Class 2 and Class 3 participated in a national webinar teaching us about poetry using the environment. Inspired by yesterday’s event, we visited the woods near our school today and created wonderful nature poems using the beautiful surroundings we are lucky enough to enjoy.
Congratulations and a huge well done to all of our children for completing our Roecliffe Mini Marathon this week! We were inspired by the London marathon to run (or walk!) a distance of 2.6 miles over the last five days around the village green.
Thank you for celebrating Jeans for Genes day with us at school today. Many thanks also to those of you who have already donated a contribution to the Jeans for Genes charity. If you wish to make a donation, please use the link below to the Jeans for Genes website so that our school can raise some funds for this very worthwhile children’s charity.

We were so excited to welcome Iron Biby to our school to meet this children this morning! We learned lots about how be became the man with the world’s strongest shoulders! Thank you so much to Darren Sadler for coming too and for arranging this – it has really inspired our children and the visit fits perfectly with this term’s learning behaviour “we challenge ourselves”.
