We have being doing a unit of work in DT and Science about healthy diets. We learned about the food groups and the benefits of each of the food groups for your body. We then talked about healthy and unhealthy foods and designed our own healthy packed lunches! We learned that a healthy packed lunch could include: (advice taken from NHS website and Phunky Foods)
- One starchy carbohydrate
- One protein
- One dairy or alternative
- Two portions of fruit and veg
We then designed, made and evaluated a healthy wrap. We chose our ingredients, cut the cucumber, washed the spinach and lettuce and rolled it up! They were delicious.
We also made leaflets to share in our school community to raise awareness of healthy diets and healthy choices for packed lunches!
